QPlayer (Beta)
QPlayer is mediaplayer that works like Windows Explorer. It can be used to play or open different type of media files. QPlayer supports multiple playlists and these are displayed in alphabetical order.

Windows 7 theme |
QPlayer uses file and folder names in playlist. This makes to possible that playlist works like explorer. You can rename files or even drag those to other applications. Also it's easier to find files from disk by clicking selected file context menu "Open directory to explorer". Disadvantage of using filesystem names is that the files must be named clearly.
One way to rename files is use mFastRen program that comes bundled with the QPlayer.
The recommended naming convention is:
"X:\...\Playlist\Artist\Year Album\XX - kappale.mp3"
Example.
"C:\Mp3\Hardrock\Metallica\1983 Kill 'em all\01 - Hit The Lights.mp3"
In this case, playlist rootfolder should be "C:\Mp3\Hardrock".
Files are ordered nicely as long as separate songs are not put in rootfolders, because otherwise the files are sorted between albums and artist names. In this situation you can create subfolder for separate files.
Playlist usage
Some other players the playlist is sortable that files can be sorted to playing order. QPlayer has secondary playlist called "MemoryList" for that purpose. You can drag or send files to it by context menu. You can also search files from playlists and show results in memorylist. When search is started with shift button down, search result is appended to bottom of memorylist. If you want search where file is contained in playlist you can use quick search (ctrl+f) or enter starting letter of file when playlist is active.

MemoryList
The playlist is cached to memory when it is readed once from file system. When the playlist is updating there will appear icon on playlist tab button. Playlist refreshing can be started manually by selecting 'Refresh List' from context menu.

Album photos and introductory texts
The album cover pictures are named as "album_thumb.jpg" in the folder where the files are displayed. Image size should be small (75x75 album covers and films 98x145), since large images can slow down the loading of the playlist.Example.
"C:\Mp3\Hardrock\Metallica\1983 Kill 'em all\album_thumb.jpg"
This can be used to help you will find the "Download Album Cover" script.
You can also create short info texts to files. When file is selected, scrolling info text are shown in player footer. When playlist is in movie layout text also shown directly in playlist.
Info-file are named like:
"C:\Video\TV\Idols\2008\2008.09.21 MTV3 Idols.mpg"
"C:\Video\TV\Idols\2008\2008.09.21 MTV3 Idols.txt"
QPlayer also supports DVBViewer information files, which can be deployed by placing them on top of DVBViewer settings (see picture settings).
If you use DVBViewer you might also like script which converts dates like "2008.12.17 22-31 MTV3 MythBusters" so there are sorted properly.

In this folder, you can make your own scripts which can in example process files or search info text to movies.
Installation comes with some scripts, which
"Download album cover" is intended for search cover image from web.
"Open Directory to mFastRen" script opens the selected folder mFastRen program, which can easily correct a number of file names at once.
"Open With" menu has similar logic. There can be made scripts that can open files with some other players or command line parameters.
This menu contains item "Browse application" which will launch the Windows default program selection wizard. QPlayer uses filetype default application when external files are opened by double clicking them.
Lyrics
QPlayer supports realtime lyrics in its own format (qlr).
You can create lyric files by creating text file like this.
"c:\Mp3\Stream Of Passion\2009 The Flame Within\04 - When You Hurt Me The Most.mp3"
"c:\Mp3\Stream Of Passion\2009 The Flame Within\04 - When You Hurt Me The Most.qlr"
Qlr file format is simple.
#V0 ;When You Hurt Me The Most 00:19:0The air was cold the night I fled, 00:26:0your eyes were more than I could take. 00:31:0I ran so fast, I ran like hell, ...#V[value] = Delay in milliseconds
; = comment
00:19:0 = 19 seconds from begining.
